What We Look For In Soccer Betting Sites
Soccer is a unique sport. Scoring tends to be low but still has much excitement.
Second-by-second play in soccer can be full of incredible moments. The nuanced sport offers plenty of betting fodder.
If you plan to wager on soccer, it’s essential to stick to gambling sites that understand the ins and outs of the world’s most popular sport.
Here are some criteria we use to select our best soccer betting sites.
League Coverage
The best sites for soccer betting will have a vast list of leagues you can bet on. Soccer reaches further than most sports thanks to its wide variety of leagues and teams.
The sport’s structure begets a lot of volume, and sportsbooks should reflect that volume.
A sportsbook doesn’t have to cover every league under the sun to be a viable choice for soccer bettors. However, the more leagues and teams available to bet on, the better the sportsbook tends to be.
A solid soccer betting site will have several leagues, including (but not limited to):
- Champions League
- English Premier League
- Europa League
- France: Ligue 1
- Germany Bundesliga
- Greece Super League
- Israel Premier League
- Italy Serie A
- Mexico Liga de Expansión
- Norway Eliteserien
- Portugal Primeira Liga
- Spain: La Liga
That’s just a tiny swath of the more extensive offering at some sportsbooks. The sportsbooks we recommend for soccer betting below tend to include all these leagues and many more.
Of course, any sportsbook worth using will also include World Cup bets, which we’ll cover in more detail later.
Betting Markets
Soccer bets differ from offerings on other team sports, such as football, baseball or basketball. Because matches tend to be close, the primary bet types you’ll find on soccer bouts are “win” and “draw.”
In other words, you can bet on a team to win (essentially a moneyline bet) or on the match to end in a draw. Those are the main bets you’ll encounter for soccer matches.
You can still be on the point spread and total goals, but they’re less popular formats for soccer fans because games can end with few points scored.
Market depth is essential beyond the standard wagers, too. A good soccer betting site will include player props, parlays, team props, futures and other wagering options.
Promotions & Bonuses
We look for sportsbooks that offer bonuses of two types: welcome bonuses (for brand-new bettors) and ongoing promotions (for existing bettors).
Our top recommended sportsbooks have solid welcome bonuses, usually in the form of second-chance first bets or bonus bets.
They also include regular rotating bonuses such as parlay insurance, refer-a-friend and odds boosts.
Live Betting
The U.K. and other overseas markets have long been enamored with live betting, particularly when it comes to soccer. In the U.S., live betting is on the rise, and it’s an option if you’re a soccer fan.
Soccer has a slow pace of play (at least concerning how often teams score), so live betting can have value and be fun while watching a game.
A sportsbook with a robust live betting offering is more likely to make our list of best soccer betting sites.
User Experience
This encompasses many factors: mobile app design, look and feel, customer service, speed, etc.
It boils down to a question: how easy is the app to use for a bettor? A sportsbook will likely make our list of good soccer betting apps if everything works smoothly.
Top Soccer Betting Sites 2024
Whether you’re gearing up for World Cup betting or want to bet on an MLS game, these apps will do the trick.
Each of these sportsbooks provides value with a welcome offer and robust soccer betting markets.

Why We Picked It
You’re bound to see DraftKings listed on almost any “best betting sites” page, and this one is no different. Draftkings has an impressive depth of markets for soccer betting. The sportsbook’s soccer page includes a long list of leagues from around the world. You can scroll through them to find the one you’d most like to bet on. Leagues with live, in-progress matches are labeled so you can quickly find in-game bets if that’s your thing.
As you might expect, DraftKings has competitive odds on soccer matches; it should always be on your list if you’re shopping for the best lines.
The DraftKings opening bonus is $250 in bonus bets guaranteed when you make a $5+ wager with your first bet after signing up.

Why We Picked It
FanDuel and DraftKings are locked in competition; it’s been their way since the early aughts of daily fantasy sports. No surprise, then, that FanDuel makes our list of best soccer betting sites.
FanDuel’s top nav bar features the more significant soccer leagues, allowing you to sort through them. Plus, you can filter by live games to find in-play bets. The odds compete with all the other sportsbooks on this list, making FanDuel an all-around great choice for soccer bettors.
New users at FanDuel get $200 in bonus bets if they win their first $5+ wager.

Why We Picked It
Fanatics — previously PointsBet in some markets — is one of the newest sportsbooks, debuting in 2023.
Like Caesars, it also offers live streams of NFL games. The selection is limited to games on broadcast television within a user’s geographic market.
This includes games played on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights. Users also must have at least 10 cents in their account to stream, which is the minimum wager amount at Fanatics.
The app has a tracker to monitor the stats and odds from the game you’re streaming. It also tailors the home page based on which betting markets you tend to wager on.
Fanatics highlights pre-built parlays, popular prop bets and odds boosts on the home page. It can be difficult to find the odds boosts, however, as they are not always in a centralized location. You may need to scroll down and look carefully to find them.
The rewards program gives users FanCash based on how much they wager, typically 1% for standard bets and 3% for parlays. FanCash can be converted into bonus bets to use at the sportsbook and redeemed at Fanatics.com, where you can use your rewards to purchase merchandise of your favorite teams and players.
Keep in mind that Fanatics Sportsbook does not have a desktop site if you prefer to wager on your computer.
New users at Fanatics can earn up to $1,000 in bonus bets by placing a $200 qualifying wager on each of their first five days after signing up.

Why We Picked It
Of all the sportsbooks we recommend on this page, BetMGM has one of the smoothest layouts for soccer betting. The soccer betting page displays mini-jerseys, so you can identify your team before seeing the name. Sorting through leagues is a breeze in the top navigation section, too.
BetMGM quickly updates odds on in-game and upcoming matches, so it’s a solid pick for live betting. The lines are competitive and worth checking out if you’re looking for the best payout.
When you first join BetMGM, you’ll get a $1,500 risk-free first bet.

Why We Picked It
Caesars came late to the sports betting game. After purchasing William Hill, the sportsbook played catch-up with many other major operators. William Hill had a history of operating land-based betting shops in the UK (Caesars sold that arm of the business to focus on the US), so Caesars has a good soccer offering.
Caesars makes it easy to sort by schedule so you can see the pending matches in one extensive list (including the win or draw bets on those matches). You can also sort by “live” to find current lines on games in progress.
The Caesars soccer page leaves a bit to be desired in terms of interface, but it shouldn’t present too many hurdles to the average bettor.
Joining Caesars gets you a second-chance first bet up to $1,000 if your first wager loses.

Why We Picked It
BetRivers has plenty of soccer bets. You can collapse the first soccer menu that pops up (usually the English Premier League) to see the wide variety of leagues and teams on offer. BetRivers has a wide variety of betting options like the other bookmakers on this list.
The only knock to BetRivers is the odds. It can be (and often are) competitive with other books, but sometimes it takes work to find a good line there when so many other top books are in a race to the bottom.
Join BetRivers for a second-chance first bet up to $500.

Bet365 has a reputation as one of the best sportsbooks worldwide.
Bet365 features prominent odds boosts for NFL games. It also has a unique “early win” feature that automatically grades your bet as a win if your team goes up by at least 17 points.
NFL bettors will also enjoy the Bet Builder and Teaser Cards.
The Bet Builder allows users to pool prop bets from the same game into a same-game parlay, while Teaser Cards make it easy to create teaser bets.
Bet365 is easy to use and is popular for its live betting odds. It also gives new customers a choice between two welcome offers: up to $1,000 back if your first wager loses or $150 in bonus bets if you wager $5.

Why We Picked It
ESPN BET is one of the most recent sportsbooks to join the market, launching in 2023. Despite being new, it’s already available in 18 states.
Previously Barstool Sportsbook, this app rebranded to ESPN BET after PENN Entertainment partnered with ESPN. For existing customers, the app still looks and feels mostly the same.
New customers can claim two bonuses after signing up. One is worth up to $1,000 if your first bet loses, while the other is a 200% first deposit match up to $500.
Beyond that, ESPN BET offers plentiful daily odds boosts and has everything you’d expect from a new, modern sportsbook. The app is easy to use, customer service is solid and there are numerous betting markets to choose from.
ESPN is a big name in the sports industry, and its official sportsbook matches its reputation.

World Cup Sports Betting
Now that you’re familiar with the many sportsbooks primed and ready to take your soccer bets, your next question might be: can I bet on the World Cup?
Whenever the World Cup rolls around (once every four years, if you’re counting), sportsbooks offer odds on it.
Within the World Cup, there are plenty of bets you can place. You can bet on team futures (who will win the tournament), single-match wins/draws, player props and much more.
Leading up to the World Cup, sportsbooks will start by offering futures odds, or odds on a distant future outcome. The most popular World Cup futures bet is which team will win the whole tournament.
Here’s an example using futures odds for the 2022 World Cup.
Odds To Win The 2022 World Cup | DraftKings | FanDuel |
---|---|---|
Brazil | $400.00 | $450.00 |
Argentina | $500.00 | $550.00 |
France | $700.00 | $600.00 |
England | $850.00 | $750.00 |
Spain | $850.00 | $750.00 |
Note that these are just the five favorite teams to win. You can bet on many others, though the odds will be longer for those teams.
In this example, DraftKings would be the better-paying bet.
You can also bet on various other futures markets, including top goal scorer, Golden Boot winner, top assists and more.
Betting On Individual World Cup Games
The World Cup contains many contested matches between fierce rivals and distant competitors. For each individual match, you can bet on one of the teams to win or for the match to end in a draw.
You can also bet on various props and other markets. One popular betting market for the World Cup is whether both teams will score. You could bet “yes” (you think both teams will get at least one goal) or “no” (you think at least one of the teams won’t score).
Totals (Over/Under bets) are slightly less popular for soccer bettors because matches are usually close affairs. You might see a line set at 2.5 or near that number, and you can bet whether the teams will combine for more or less than that total.
Of course, there are numerous other bet types on offer, including live betting. You can place wagers while a match is in progress. Sometimes this can be advantageous, as odds change mid-game and could possibly give you a better line than other bettors got before the game began.
Which Soccer Betting Site Has the Best Odds?
One of the best ways to make the most of your betting experience is to shop around at different sportsbooks to find the best odds.
While all of our favorite sports betting sites have soccer odds, there can be some small variation across each sportsbook.
While you won’t find a team as -200 favorites on one sportsbook and +100 underdogs on another, there’s enough variation to make looking around worthwhile.
Shopping around can be profitable when thinking about futures bets. As an example, FanDuel might have Manchester City at +110 to win the Premier League, while DraftKings might have them at +120.
Although that’s not a huge difference, it would be worth placing that hypothetical bet with DraftKings because you’d get a better payout.
It’s also worth looking at each sportsbook’s soccer specials.
Some sportsbooks offer house-made parlays based around where a team will finish in the table or how many trophies they’ll win in a team. Each sportsbook offers different specials with different odds, so shop around for these as well.
What is the Most Popular Bet in Soccer?
When you look at the odds for a soccer match, chances are the first thing you’ll see is a “regular time” three-way moneyline bet. This bet allows you to bet on a team on the moneyline, but only in regular time.
So if Tottenham and Liverpool were playing in a Premier League match, you’d see the ability to bet on Tottenham to win, Liverpool to win and a draw.
If you bet on Tottenham, it would need to win in regular time (plus stoppage time) for your bet to win. If it’s tied after regular time and Tottenham wins in extra time, your bet would lose.
Draws are rarer, which is why it usually has higher odds than either team’s moneyline.
If you bet on a draw, your bet will win if both teams are tied after regular time (plus stoppage time). This bet will hit even if the game goes to extra time because the match was tied after 90 minutes.
If a game has the potential to have extra time (which is only for tournament or postseason games), you can bet on a team to win in regular and extra time, but it would come at lower odds than a regular time moneyline bet.
Another popular soccer bet is a “double chance,” which allows you to double down on your bet. So, if you were looking to bet on the hypothetical match between Tottenham and Liverpool, you’d be able to place a “double chance” bet on Tottenham to win or the game to finish in a draw; meaning the only way your bet wouldn’t hit would be if Liverpool won.
That said, these bets usually have much lower odds than a straight moneyline bet.
You can also bet on the total number of goals in a match, but it isn’t as popular of a bet as in other sports because of the lack of scoring. Another popular bet is the amount of corner kicks in a game. The same can be said for spread betting , as it’s usually only a good bet when the match is between two mismatched teams.
All of these bets can be used as straight bets or can be combined to create a parlay. That said, it’s important to check and make sure your preferred sportsbook allows for you to create a same-game parlay using the bets you like.
How to Claim a Soccer Betting Bonus

Sportsbook Rankings Methodology
We’ve taken the time to sample and research numerous sportsbooks, narrowing down a list of the best in the industry. These rankings can help you decide which ones to try first.
Our rankings are based on scores in the following categories:
- App reviews
- Availability across states
- Size of welcome offer
- Ease of claiming welcome offer
- Rewards program
- In-app streaming capabilities
- Existing user promos
- Customer service options
Below, we’ll break down each category and why it’s important to your sports betting experience.
App Reviews
A quick and easy way to get a sense of a sportsbook’s quality is by comparing user reviews on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Since ratings are out of five stars, you’ll generally want a sportsbook that’s well-regarded with an average score of at least four stars.
You can also dive into specific user comments to get a sense of what people are saying about the app and if there are any recurring complaints or issues. This can be helpful for features that are hard to gauge until you actually use the app, like lagginess or customer service.
Many commenters are there to complain, so don’t put too much stock in specific reviews.
That said, if you notice common themes throughout the comments, consider it a warning for issues you may encounter with the app.
State Availability
Each state handles sports betting differently. Some states allow both in-person and mobile sports betting, while others might only allow in-person sports betting or have a hard cap on the number of mobile sportsbooks permitted.
Accordingly, sportsbooks vary by state, as each state has to approve a sportsbook before it can launch there. No sportsbook is available in every state with legal online sports betting, but a few have launched in the majority of them.
Generally speaking, the more states a sportsbook is available in, the better. That means it’s more likely to be available in your state, a bordering state or a state you’re likely to travel to, making it easier and more convenient to use. That way, you’ll be able to take your sportsbook with you rather than needing to sign up for a new one every time you leave your state.
While smaller “local” sportsbooks usually offer profit boosts and other bonuses based on hometown teams, they’re usually only available in a handful of states at most, offering limited availability.
Size of Welcome Offer
This is an important one. How much free money will a sportsbook give you for signing up?
Most sportsbooks have welcome offers to entice new customers, but it’s important to know how these offers work. Just because an offer has a higher dollar amount attached to it doesn’t necessarily make it better.
Some sportsbooks have “bet and get” promotions where you receive bonus bets (site credit) just for wagering a small amount of money. For example, you might get $200 in bonus bets just for placing a $5 wager. You’re essentially getting free money to bet with.
Other sportsbooks have “no-sweat” offers that give a bonus bet only if your first bet loses.
For example, if you place a $20 bet after signing up and it loses, you’ll receive a $20 bonus bet, similar to a refund.
These offers tend to wow bettors with larger amounts than “bet and get” promos, often going up to $1,000 or $1,500. However, you’ll only receive a bonus bet if your first wager loses, in which case you’ll need to use the bonus bet to try to win your money back. If your wager wins, you’ll receive your cash winnings like a normal wager but won’t receive any bonus.
Accordingly, “no sweat” offers generally aren’t as good as “bet and get” promos.
When comparing sportsbooks, it’s better to focus on welcome offers with guaranteed bonuses that give you site credit no matter what.
Ease of Claiming Welcome Offer
The size of the bonus offer won’t matter if it’s difficult to claim.
The best sportsbook bonus offers are as easy to claim as they are generous, being simple and straightforward without requiring you to jump through hoops.
The best bonuses are guaranteed and hit your account instantly as soon as you place your first bet. They’ll also be easy to follow and won’t require you to check a bunch of boxes to get your bonus.
Some sportsbook bonus offers require you to make multiple wagers or wait days or weeks to unlock your full bonus. This can be inconvenient, especially if you’re trying to get your full bonus ahead of a major sporting event like the Super Bowl or March Madness .
More complex offers can be a pain, so we prefer simplified offers with fewer requirements.
Rewards Program
If you bet often and are planning to use a sportsbook frequently, a strong rewards program is essential.
Loyalty programs differ by sportsbook. Some give you rewards points for each bet, which can then be converted into bonus bets or other rewards. Others offer big rewards like free trips, hotel stays, tickets to sporting events and more.
On the other hand, some sportsbooks don’t have any rewards. That might not be a big deal for casual bettors, but it can make a difference for frequent sports bettors.
It’s like paying for something with cash versus a credit card. If you place a bet at a site without a loyalty program, you’re missing out on points elsewhere.
In-App Streaming Capabilities
While bigger sports like football or basketball are usually only available to watch via traditional cable or streaming services, some sportsbooks offer the ability to stream smaller sports in the app, which is a benefit for bettors.
For example, FanDuel ‘s app often streams tennis matches, which makes it easier to follow the action and place live wagers .
Beyond just offering live streaming, we also considered how laggy the stream was, how much battery it used and the amount of events available to stream in the app.
Existing User Promos
Most sportsbooks have some type of welcome offer to get new customers in the door, but where they really differ is with their promotions for existing customers.
Some sportsbooks offer a slew of daily promotions like odds boosts, no-sweat bets, bonus bets and more to keep customers coming back every day. Others only offer these sparingly, however, if at all.
One key existing user promo to consider is the referral bonus. Many sportsbooks have some type of referral bonus for getting someone else to sign up, but the amount can differ ($50 per person, $100, $200, etc.). If you’re planning to bet with friends or family, this can be a great way to score bonus bets for you and them.
Similar to a rewards program, you’ll want a sportsbook with frequent offers for existing customers if you plan to bet frequently.
Customer Service Options
Strong customer service options are a must for any sportsbook considering most disputes or calls involve someone’s money.
High marks were given to any sportsbook that offered 24/7 customer service (sporting events often end at night, after all), while points were deducted if a sportsbook relied on a FAQ page as a key part of its customer service profile. The more options for contacting customer service (email, chat, phone, etc.), the better.
Customer support is essential to guaranteeing a smooth sports betting experience. If a problem arises, it’s important to have it handled quickly and effectively.
